Publishing System

AZKIYA: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengkajian dan Penelitian Pendidikan Islam is published regularly twice a year by the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Kutai Kartanegara, Tenggarong, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Publication Frequency

AZKIYA publishes two issues annually:

June Issue
December Issue

Each issue contains scholarly articles that have successfully completed the editorial screening, similarity checking, peer-review, revision, copyediting, and production processes.

Publishing Schedule

The journal follows the following regular publication schedule:

Issue 1: January–June
Published in June

Issue 2: July–December
Published in December

The Editorial Team seeks to maintain publication consistency and timely issue release according to this schedule.

Continuous Editorial Process

Although AZKIYA publishes two issues per year, manuscript submission and editorial processing are conducted throughout the year.

Authors may submit manuscripts at any time through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Submitted manuscripts will undergo:

Initial Editorial Screening → Similarity Screening → Double-Anonymous Peer Review → Author Revision → Editorial Decision → Copyediting → Layout and Production → Publication

The publication of an accepted manuscript will be scheduled according to the availability and editorial planning of the relevant issue.

Publication Queue

Acceptance of a manuscript does not automatically mean that the article will be published immediately.

Articles that have been accepted may be placed in a publication queue based on:

completion of the editorial and production process;
thematic relevance;
availability of space in the scheduled issue;
order of manuscript readiness;
editorial considerations.

The Editorial Team has the authority to determine the most appropriate issue for publication.

Special Issues

Where academically relevant, AZKIYA may publish a special issue focusing on a particular theme within Islamic Religious Education or Islamic Education Studies.

A special issue will be announced officially through the journal website and will follow the same standards of editorial screening, peer review, publication ethics, and academic quality as regular issues.
