Author Guidelines

AZKIYA: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengkajian dan Penelitian Pendidikan Islam welcomes original scholarly manuscripts in the fields of Islamic Religious Education and Islamic Education Studies. The journal accepts empirical research articles, conceptual studies, systematic literature reviews, research and development studies, and other scholarly works that provide clear theoretical, methodological, or practical contributions.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal.

Manuscripts should be written in Indonesian or English using clear and appropriate academic language. Authors are required to use the official AZKIYA article template and submit the manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

The recommended manuscript length is approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.

The manuscript should generally contain:

Title – Author(s) and Affiliation – Abstract – Keywords – Introduction – Research Method – Results and Discussion – Conclusion – Acknowledgment (if applicable) – References.

The title should be concise, specific, and informative, preferably not exceeding 15 words.

The abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and briefly present the research background or problem, objective, method, main findings, and conclusion or implications. Authors should provide 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts of the article.

The Introduction should clearly present the research context, empirical or theoretical problem, relevant previous studies, research gap, novelty, and research objective or questions.

The Research Method should provide sufficient information regarding the research design, participants or data sources, data collection procedures, instruments, data analysis techniques, and procedures for ensuring validity or trustworthiness.

Results and Discussion should present the findings clearly and critically discuss them in relation to relevant theories and previous studies. Authors are expected to explicitly demonstrate the scientific contribution or novelty of the study.

The Conclusion should directly address the research objectives or questions and may include implications, limitations, and recommendations for further research.

References should primarily consist of relevant and recent scholarly sources. Authors are strongly encouraged to use primary sources, particularly reputable journal articles published within the last ten years, while relevant classical works may still be cited when necessary.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. DOI or active URLs should be provided for references whenever available.

All manuscripts will undergo editorial screening, plagiarism/similarity checking, and double-anonymous peer review.

Any substantive use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) must be transparently disclosed when relevant. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. The authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, references, and interpretations contained in the manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must confirm all of the following requirements before completing a submission:

  1. The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
  2. The manuscript has been prepared using the official AZKIYA article template and submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  3. The manuscript complies with the AZKIYA Author Guidelines, including article structure, manuscript length, tables, figures, citations, and references.
  4. All author-identifying information that must be anonymized has been removed from the manuscript to support the double-anonymous peer-review process.
  5. The title, abstract, and keywords have been prepared accurately according to journal requirements.
  6. All sources cited in the manuscript appear in the reference list, and DOI or active URLs have been provided whenever available.
  7. The references have been checked for accuracy and consistency, preferably using Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or another reference manager.
  8. The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, inappropriate citation practices, and other forms of academic misconduct.
  9. Any substantive use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been appropriately disclosed, and the authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript.
  10. All authors have approved the submitted manuscript, agreed to the authorship order, and completed the required author metadata.

Authors who publish with AZKIYA: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengkajian dan Penelitian Pendidikan Islam retain copyright over their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

Published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise stated by the journal.

Under this license, others may share and adapt the published work for any lawful purpose, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source of publication is acknowledged, and a link to the applicable license is provided.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, photographs, instruments, or other third-party content included in the manuscript.
