Artificial Intelligence Policy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Jurnal Geologi dan Pertambangan (JGP) recognizes the development of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing. This policy aims to ensure transparency, academic integrity, and scientific reliability in all published manuscripts.

Guidelines for Authors and Reviewers

No AI Authorship

AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Large Language Models, etc.) cannot be listed as an author or co-author. Authorship implies academic responsibility and legal accountability, which can only be held by humans.

Permissible Use

AI tools should only be used to improve readability, language, and grammar. They must not be used to generate data, draw scientific conclusions, or manipulate research figures and images.

Disclosure & Transparency

Authors must include an explicit disclosure statement in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgments section) detailing the AI tool used and the purpose of its application.

Restrictions for Reviewers

Peer reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading submitted manuscripts into AI tools to protect intellectual property rights and maintain strict confidentiality.

Core Principle: Authors remain fully accountable for the factual accuracy, citations, and overall integrity of their submitted work.
