PENINGKATAN PELAYANAN ADMINISTRASI PADA SEKRETARIAT DPRD DALAM RANGKA FUNGSI PENGAWASAN LEGISLATIF DI DPRD KABUPATEN KUTAI BARAT

Abstract

Research is a process using the scientific method to be able to discover, develop and test the truth of science. In a large and complex organization, the
Regional People's Representative Assembly (DPRD) can't work alone. An absolute condition that they must be assisted by other people who have the
ability and expertise in certain fields, in technical matters that cannot be reached with any thought by the representatives of the people, because
basically, every human being is not perfect. So wherever there are advantages there are still disadvantages. The purpose of this study was to analyze
the role of the staff of the Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives in assisting the implementation of the duties of members of the DPRD
of West Kutai Regency in carrying out their legislative functions during their five-year term of service. This study used a descriptive qualitative research
design. This research was conducted at the DPRD Secretariat of West Kutai Regency. The data used were primary and secondary data. Data were
collected through in-depth interview observations, and literature review. Primary data was collected through 10 key informants. The result of this
research is that the role of the West Kutai DPRD Secretariat in supporting the implementation of DPRD functions has been carr ied out effectively and
efficiently. Things that can be taken to increase the role of the West Kutai DPRD Secretariat in supporting the function of the DPRD are to increase
employee competence, improve more effective coordination, and increase employee morale and enthusiasm.
