Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the increase in work productivity through motivation to create quality services and analyze the importance of
work motivation in increasing employee productivity at the General Section of the Regional Secretariat of West Kutai Regency. This research design is
qualitative. The data used consists of primary data and secondary data. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature
searches. Data analysis using qualitative analysis techniques which included the stages of data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and data
verification. The results of this study are (1) the need for discipline, supervision, creating a conducive climate, providing incentives, and compensation,
(2) types of motivation used by leaders to improve employee performance in the form of salaries, bonuses, work facilities, job placement, praise,
awards, and punishment, (3) the level of motivation used by the leadership is good, it is shown that work results increase, work discipline also
increases, and the skills possessed by employees are getting better by creating ideas for good production methods, and (4) motivational constraints The
problems faced are leaders find it difficult to determine appropriate and effective motivation tools, leaders find it difficult to know the wishes of
employees, employees lack discipline in their work, and some employees are quite old.
