The purpose of this research; analyze strategic planning for the implementation and implementation of the main tasks and func tions of the
Economic Section of the secretariat of West Kutai Regency, to describe the description of the vision, mission, objectives, strategies, and
policies of the economic section of the Regional Secretariat to improve services to the community. and analyze the motivation of local
officials to improve services to the community in the process of achieving the targets set. The desi gn of this research is descriptive
qualitative research. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and
literature searches. Primary data were collected using key informants with a total of 21 people. Data analysis was carried out through
procedures for collecting information, reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the Regional
Secretariat of West Kutai Regency has implemented indicators of Good Governance which include aspects of accountability,
responsiveness, consensus, effectiveness and efficiency, and participation along with their respective indicators. However, aspects that have
not been implemented properly, namely transparency and professionalism, the Regional Secretariat of West Kutai Regency, faces a lack of
understanding of the duties and functions that are the responsibility of each section, as well as the implementation of standard operating
procedures that are not applicable, and the feudal culture is still rampant. practiced among employees.
