Abstract

This article tries to describe the Islamic religious education to improve religious awareness in the Class II Lapas for Tenggarong female children. The methods of the Islamic religious education are among others: the lecture method, the method of learning the Koran, as well as the muhasabah and dhikr methods. The materials of the Islamic religious education covers on three main points: Aqidah, Syariah and Akhlak, such as: Islamic boarding school activities in which there are materials including learning to pray, learning the Koran, learning to memorize, learning to take care of corpses, and learning Islamic arts and much more related to Islam. In addition, The impact of religious education can be seen through the development of religious knowledge possessed by inmates increased from those who did not know about religion, such as praying, reading the Koran, to knowing from those who did not understand the rules. religious rules become understood, from those who are lazy to worship to be diligent in worshiping, from those who can't recite the Koran to be able to recite the Koran. His thought patterns and behavior also changed to be more controlled and controllable so that they were easy to manage
