Abstract

The system for fulfilling the rights of pregnant female prisoners while in the Tenggarong Class IIA Penitentiary has been partially implemented in accordance with existing regulations, namely Law Number 22 of 2022 and Government Regulation Number 32 of 1999. These rights include adequate nutrition and health services provided. However, in reality, in certain conditions, correctional officers cannot fulfill the required facilities.

Although efforts have been made to fulfill the rights of pregnant prisoners, in reality there are still obstacles, one of which is the failure to achieve infrastructure facilities due to overcapacity in the Tenggarong Class IIA Women's Penitentiary. The budget allocation that should be allocated to special pregnancy and postpartum rooms must cover the excess number of occupants.

From the conclusion above, the author can suggest to the Class IIA Women's Correctional Institution regarding the allocation of a targeted budget for improving facilities and infrastructure for female prisoners, especially those who are pregnant, by providing obstetricians/Obgyn and the need for cooperation between the health service, community organizations, and non-governmental institutions in implementing the fulfillment of the rights of female prisoners.
