Abstract

The Role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Village Government Performance, Author/Researcher: H. Jamaluddin, S.Ag. SH. MH. That the authority of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) is to administer the Village Government, holding meetings with the community to obtain aspirations, conveying community aspirations to the village government verbally and in writing, proposing draft village regulations which fall under its authority, carrying out monitoring and evaluation of the village head's performance, requesting information regarding the implementation of village government to the village government, expressing opinions on the implementation of village government, implementation of village development, development of village community, and empowerment of village communities, guarding community aspirations, maintaining the authority and stability of village government administration and spearheading the implementation of village government based on good governance , prepare rules and regulations, submit incidental monitoring results reports to the Regent via the sub-district head, prepare and submit written proposals for operational cost plans for the Village Consultative Body (BPD) to the village head for allocation in the Village RAPB, manage operational costs for the Village Consultative Body (BPD ), propose the formation of a community forum between village institutions to the village head and conduct visits to the community in the context of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of Village Government. With the authority, the evaluation is carried out every year, which evaluates the performance of the village government or village head during one budget year and in accordance with its authority, the Village Consultative Body makes notes about the performance of the village head, asks for information or information if there are irregularities or problems in the implementation of village programs, states opinions on the evaluation results as well as providing input or suggestions in preparing materials for village deliberations (Village Musrembang). The relationship between the Village Consultative Body (BPD) and the Village Government is one of partnership, consultation and coordination. The village consultative body is an institution that is parallel to the village government which is tasked with and has a working relationship as a forum for consultation in terms of the village government creating programs and ideas to advance development and improve the welfare of the village community. Therefore, as a partnership in relation to work, it is of course highly expected that the village government and the village consultative body must both have the same mission as a goal in serving the community and provide maximum contribution to accommodate and realize the aspirations of the community as the embodiment of the 5th principle of Pancasila. namely social justice for all Indonesian people.
