PERAN PROGRAM BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING DI SMPN 1 TENGGARONG, SMPN 1 LOA KULU, SMPN 1 LOA JANAN
Abstract
This research aims to find out the implementation of Guidance and Counseling program and the efforts made to improve the implementation of Guidance and Counseling programs and the guidelines for the implementation of Guidance and Counseling in schools. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Tenggarong, SMPN 1 Loa Kulu, and SMPN 1 Loa Janan . The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative because this research intended to identify and describe the implementation of Guidance and Counseling Program in the schools. The data were collected by using interview, questionnaire, observation and documentation. The data were analyzed after the data were tested for their validity (triangulation) through data triangulation and source triangulation. The research findings showed that the implementation of Guidance and Counseling program at SMPN 1 Tenggarong, SMPN 1 Loa Kulu, and SMPN 1 Loa Janan had run well. The teachers of Guidance and Counseling had prepared Guidance and Counseling program based on the steps of services activities, namely: (1) planning; (2) implementation; (3) outcome evaluation; (4) analysis of the results of assessment; and (5) follow-up. The three schools also made efforts to improve the implementation of the Guidance and Counseling programs and to improve the guidelines of the implementation of Guidance and Counseling program in the schools through professional development program for counseling teachers and classroom teacher in the area of Guidance and Counseling in the forms of training, seminars, Guidance and Counseling teachers discussion forum, and providing sufficient facilities to support the accomplishment of the implementation of Guidance and Counseling program.Competence is the overall of knowledge, value, and attitude which are reflected in thinking and acting habit. Competence represents an integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric, or in more operational definition, graduate competences are mastery and ownership of knowledge, which can be applied in life (skill) with noble behavior values (attitudes).
