PENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE TUTOR SEBAYA PADA SISWA KELAS VII DI SMPN 1 TENGGARONG

Abstract

This research aims to know: 1. How is the application of coeval tutor method in study mathematics subject of flat structure material of the seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Tenggarong; 2. Can the method of study of coeval tutor
increase the students’ achievement in mathematics subject of flat structure material of the seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Tenggarong. By using interview it was known that the result of study of mathematics of flat structure material on pre cycle
the average score was 61.75, which only 7 students reached the KKM, so the classical learning completeness was only 45 %. After the using of coeval tutor method in learning mathematics in cycle I, the average score of the class was 67.5 in
which 13 students had reached the KKM, in cycle I the percentage of classical learning completeness increased 20% became 65%. Meanwhile, in cycle II there was an improvement 25%, so the classical learning completeness became 90% in
which 18 students reached the KKM and the average score of the class was 76.5. The conclusion of this study is there was significant improvement of the average score from pre cycle until cycle II, so that the criterion of minimal completeness
(KKM) 65 was fulfilled. It can be said that the method of study of coeval tutor could increase the students’ achievement in mathematics subject of flat structure material of the seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Tenggarong.
