Abstract

Every language, basically, is a symbol of the speaker’s identity, as well as language as a nation’s identity. Language as a human’s identity because language takes a very important role in forming the characteristics of a human. Human’s
identity is an identity that consists of quality, characteristic, or sign that represents and differentiate between one human with another humans. Language is the great identity of a human because through language we can differentiate between a human
(as a speaker) with another speakers. This writing will discuss about the meanings, the functions of language and the importance of keeping the language. Hopefully, by this information we can use language as a tool of communication and interaction
effectively, efficiently and wisely for every need in our lives. We have to be careful and wise in using language because as a human we are judged through the language we used.
