Abstract

Segmentation method in improving student achievement in SBK ( Visual Arts ) in VIII grade at SMP Negeri I Tenggarong, 2012/2013 Academic Year. Learning will be
more meaningful if students has what they learned and not know it . On rote learning targeted at memory level proved only on short-term recall , but failed to equip children to
solve problems in the long time . Reality is going in VIII grade SMP Negeri I Tenggarong . When teachers provide daily tests , the students who meet the minimum
completeness criteria ( KKM ) represents only 32.5 % or 13 students from 40 students. While 67.5 % or 27 students under KKM value .
The study was conducted at the SMP Negeri I in VIII grade Tenggarong . Conducted on 40 students where classroom action research was conducted in two cycles in which the
result is to increase student achievement at each cycle . Mastery learning students before applying segmentation method of 32.5 % , after the application of segmentation methods
in the learning cycle , mastery learning of students in the first cycle to 50% and 87.5 % in the second cycle , so there is an increase of 37.5 %
